The first The Milk Bar in Rome in Via San Martino ai Monti, 34, opened in May 2009, in the historic Monti district, and is a small oasis for mothers.
To welcome you, you will
find Kiki, the creator of the store, "a bubbly blonde with
a strong American accent " who does not hesitate to clarify
by saying "I am a New Yorker,"’ wrote Alessia Acanfora in
her article for mommeonline.
It is a tiny shop full of light and color, with a garden where Dad can relax while Mom shops and where meetings takes place in the summer. Inside you will find all the best products for pregnancy, breastfeeding and motherhood under the attentive advice of Kiki, the impassioned mom expert! A large bulletin board will provide answers to many questions: "where to find lactation consultants or LLL meetings," "where to do yoga or baby massage courses" "what to do on the weekend with the baby "....
Another aspect of The Milk Bar is that of a meeting place, eventhough some still read the name and enter asking for a cappuccino, to which the response is: we are a bar for babies! The comfortable sofa offers a quiet and private space for breastfeeding and chatting, as well as the seats in the garden. A changing table completes the concept of Baby Pit Stop (certified by La LecheLeague) that we have made available for parents, so if you find yourself out and about please don’t hestite to stop in to take care of your baby!

and Italian,as well as other informational sessions such as “Where to Give

Il primo “The Milk Bar” nasce a Roma, in Via San Martino ai Monti 34.
Aperto nel maggio del 2009, nello storico Rione Monti, è una piccola oasi per le mamme.
Ad accogliervi troverete Kiki, l'ideatrice del negozio, "una bionda tutto pepe con accento americano" che non esita a precisare "sono newyorkese" come racconta Alessia Acanfora nel suo articolo su Mamme on line.
Un piccolo negozio pieno di luci e colori, con un giardino in cui i papà si possono rilassare mentre le mamme fanno shopping e dove in estate si svolgono gli incontri. All'interno troverete tutti i migliori prodotti per la gravidanza, l'allattamento e la maternità sotto l'attento consiglio di Kiki, mamma esperta e appassionata!
Una grande bacheca vi offrirà risposte a numerose domande: "dove trovare consulenti per l’allattamento o incontri della Leache League", "dove fare yoga o corsi di massaggio neonatale", "cosa fare nel week end col bimbo"....e tanto altro.
Un'altra particolarità di The Milk Bar è di essere un salotto e, se alcuni ancora si interrogano sul nome o entrano chiedendo un cappuccino, la risposta è semplice: il nostro è un bar per neonati! Il comodo divano offre uno spazio tranquillo e riservato per l'allattamento, così come le poltrone del giardino. Un fasciatoio completa l'idea di Baby Pit Stop (certificato da La Leche League) che abbiamo messo a disposizione per le mamme, per ciò se vi trovate in giro non esitate a fermarvi da noi per prendervi cura del vostro bambino!
The Milk Bar ospita mensilmente gli incontri de La Leche League in italiano, ma anche in inglese, per maggiori informazioni potete visitare il sito. Inoltre organizziamo incontri con consulenti in allattamento e ostetriche come "Dove Fare Il Parto a Roma?".
